When you find yourself putting too much force on your needle, grab your needle-nose pliers! Hold the needle with the pliers about 1/2" from the tip. Put the needle through the bead or material backing and gently push it through with the pliers until the tip appears at the other end. Grasp the tip with the pliers and pull it through.
